He is super-specialized in the field of shoulder surgery, which he has been doing for the last 20 years. More specifically he has a particular interest in the arthroscopic treatment ("keyhole surgery") of most shoulder conditions. He works at various hospitals.

- (2000) Derbyshire Royal Infirmary – Upper Limb Fellow, incorporating 80% Shoulder and Elbow Surgery
- (2001) Further training by Dr Joe De Beer of the Cape Shoulder Institute in the advanced
- Clinical evaluation of shoulder disorders
- Techniques involved in arthroscopic surgery e.g. rotator cuff repairs and shoulder stabilisations
- Radiological evaluation (XR, sagittal CT amd MRI arthrogram of shoulder pathology
- Practical application of using ultrasound (personally) in the diagnosis and postoperative evaluation of shoulder conditions
A number of talks were also given to GP's, physiotherapists and the public on shoulder examination, injection techniques and the treatment of common shoulder problems. Workshops were also given in a host of different venues around the country, encompassing arthroscopic techniques as well as open surgery such as Total Shoulder Replacement.
